I am a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist serving youth, adults, and families in Ontario as they navigate a broad range of issues related to their mental health and well being.
Specifically, I have a passion for working with people who have experienced childhood trauma manifesting in their present life through anxiety, depression and other deliberating symptoms.
I have been certified in trauma-focused cognitive behavioural therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and motivational interviewing, in addition to engaging in a continuing in a practice of continuing education in several other trauma and mindfulness related areas of interest.
Personally, my work is grounded in a foundation of anti-oppression and diversity- exemplified by years of dedicated service to several AOP committees and community initiatives. My lived experience as a first-generation Caribbean-Canadian Black woman has provided me with a valuable lens of resilience and empathy through which I provide my therapeutic service.
Infinite describes my curious, philosophical nature and love for finding meaning and value in every experience and thought- no matter how seemingly insignificant. I have always been extremely inquisitive with an ever-expanding thirst for knowledge. My first tattoo at 18 was an infinity symbol on my wrist, representing the metaphysical nature of the infinite, ever-expanding, and enduring nature of the universe. I believe there is inherent hope not only in this concept but in the curved, continuous design of the symbol as well.
Insight is defined as the capacity to gain an accurate and deep intuitive understanding of a person or thing. This word represents what is at the core of psychotherapy- the experience of understanding yourself on a clear, accurate, and deep intuitive level. The practice of gaining insight can be embodied in several ways, and it is my goal as a therapist to support clients in accessing these meaningful insights.
